Lapis Linking in Shaiya: Slots, Hammers and the Lucky Charm

Justice Online

In Shaiya, a character's level opens the door, but lapis decide how strong the character really is. Lapis are gems linked into the free slots of weapons, armor and accessories, and the number of slots is fixed when an item drops. On Justice Online, this makes slot count one of the first things to check before you treat a piece of equipment as a keeper.

How a link works

Linking is done at the Blacksmith, which you can also open from the inventory shortcuts. Every link has a chance to fail, and that chance depends on the lapis: basic stat lapis link easily, while rare, dual and high-level lapis do not. A failed link consumes the lapis. Some lapis, such as accessory and speed lapis, warn in their tooltip that a failure can break the item itself.

Tools that change the odds

A Linking Hammer doubles the link chance, up to a total of 50%. The rarer Operator's Exclusive multiplies the base chance by twenty, so save it for links that matter. Keep a Lucky Charm in your inventory before any risky link: it stops the item from breaking, one charm per failed attempt. Practise on cheap lapis first, and check the in-game drop list or the website Drop Finder to see which monsters drop what you need. Closed Alpha values can still change.
