Shaiya Beginner Guide

Your first hours on Justice Online

Shaiya is a faction-war MMORPG: you level a character, build its equipment and then fight the other faction for maps, bosses and rank. This guide walks a new or returning player through the first hours on Justice Online, from getting access to the first dungeon.

1. Get access and install

Justice Online is in Closed Alpha, so accounts are approved in small waves through the Discord server. Create your account on the website, apply in the #alpha-access channel on Discord and, once accepted, activate the account there. Then download the client. The launcher updates the game, lets you pick English, Turkish, Spanish or Filipino and starts the client.

2. Choose a faction, then a class

Your first decision is the faction: Alliance of Light or Union of Fury. It decides who your allies are for as long as you play, so agree on it with your friends before anyone creates a character. Then pick one of six roles. A damage class is the easiest start; tanks and healers are slower alone but always wanted in parties.

Every character on Justice Online is created in Ultimate Mode, the strongest growth mode, so there is nothing to unlock first. The level cap is 60.

3. Level with quests and the right maps

The leveling quests were rebuilt for this server and lead you through the maps in the intended order. Follow them and fight monsters around your own level; monsters far below you give little.

4. Use the tools the client gives you

5. Equipment: what to keep

Equipment matters more than level in Shaiya. Three things make a piece valuable: its level, its number of lapis slots and its orange bonus stats. While leveling, wear what drops and what the quests give you; do not spend rare materials on gear you will replace in a few levels. Start investing when you reach equipment you plan to keep.

Gold is shared between the characters of your account, so an alternate character can help your main.

6. Join people

Shaiya is built for groups. A party levels faster, dungeons and bosses need several roles, and PvP is decided by organized groups. Join a guild early; most of them recruit through Discord.

7. Remember this is an Alpha

Rates, drops and balance are being tested and can change, and progress may be wiped when a clean test is needed. Report what feels wrong in Discord: that is the purpose of the test.
