Beginner Guide
From installing the client to your first dungeon: what to do in your first hours.
Every Shaiya character belongs to one of two factions at war: the Alliance of Light or the Union of Fury. The choice decides your races, your class names, your starting maps and above all who fights beside you. This guide explains what is the same on both sides, what differs and how to decide.
Both factions have the same six roles: melee damage, tank, ranged physical damage, ranged magic damage, stealth melee and healer. A Fighter and a Warrior do the same job, and so do every other pair. Neither side is designed to be stronger. Each faction has its own starting maps, towns and leveling dungeons, built as mirrors of each other.
The differences are in the details: race appearance, class names, a few weapon types, and which race carries which class. On the Light side the healer is Human and the stealth class is an Elf; on the Fury side both belong to the Vail.
The difference that matters most is not in the game data at all: it is the people. Each faction develops its own guilds, languages and play times.
Inside its own maps a faction is safe. The war happens in shared PvP zones such as Proelium and Cantabilian and at world bosses, where either side can arrive. Winning those fights is how players earn kills, rank and control of the best hunting grounds.
On Justice Online there is also Justice Market, a peace-zone trading town without monsters that both factions can enter from the Teleport panel.
A faction war is only fun when both sides can win. During Closed Alpha, population and class pressure on both sides are watched, and server events are balanced between the factions.
Neither by design. They have the same six roles. Population and organization decide who wins on a given server.
A faction is chosen per account on a server, so decide before you create your first character.
